The Dreams I Will Have Come True Before I Die
To the waters....

Maybe it is the Aries in me but I have always had this tremendous affinity for water. I love the ocean, the smell of salt air, the mountains.. I love the feeling of the wind in my face and hair.

I dream of moving to Key West ala Hemingway. I like to write but seem to have lost the concentration for it. But the truth is I do not much like crowds anymore.  And the thought of being overrun by tourists is so unappealing to me. So that is a dream that will not come true.

Ideally I would love a small beach community and all I need and probably can afford is a room. Just a window from where I can see the waves dance upon the shore. Close enough to hear them and smell the salt. Close enough where I can walk  to the sand and the water.

I think of getting a huge inflatable raft and of tying a mile long rope to it, and letting the current wisk me out to the end of the line. When ready, I just pull myself back in...

Unfortunately I also need medical facilities near, a pain doctor, and transportation. Things not common in small areas. Guam is so appealing to me, but I there are problems getting the medications I need.

My sister thinks I could be happy in Holly Beach, Louisiana. It really is a small beach community that is made up of people, how should I say this, "living on the edge of society". That is attractive to me. Since I have always thought of my self as someone who hears a drummer no other does..

Virginia Beach is another place I am considering... Just because of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This is my dream.. but could be changed with involvement. Ultimately, If I find love, I will be happiest with her.. And location is a fantasy..

Camping...

Even in my condition I love the thought of sleeping on the ground on an air mattress.. I have never seen Colorado, Washington State, and Oregon. I long to spend time there. I want to go for three months. With no time lines. One stop will be planned. I want to spend a week as a volunteer petter at Best Friends. http://www.bestfriends.org  I had at one time dreamt of opening up a Great Dane Hospice. that is if I ever won the Lottery!

Train from Denver to Oakland

I have always loved the train. Maybe it was because of my mother hauling me from New Orleans to Milwaukee each summer. We took a train from New Orleans to Chicago. I loved the linen, the dinning car, the service. The sound of the tracks is a serenade to me..

I had always said I wanted to do this with someone I loved.. But I cannot wait any longer. Love does not seem to be a viable reality in my life anymore.  There is a three day ride from Denver to Oakland through the Rockies. I want to experience that when the mountains are full of snow. It would have been great to cuddle in a room with hot chocolate or champagne. To share the warmth of a comforter as we gazed out the windows at the snow covered trees.

The snow and the trees will still be there.. And hot chocolate for one is o.k.

Another thing I would like to do.. but can live without...

I would like to visit Grand Cayman Island again.. very beautiful, and serene. I had an opportunity to work there once, but my wife was not so keen on the lack of shopping..! LOL
